[Bioperl-l] Stumped by libxml-perl make error during Bundle::BioPerl installation

I am attempting to install BioPerl on a Mandrake LINUX 8.1 system using:

    perl -MCPAN -e 'install Bundle::BioPerl'

I am currently stumped in trying to work past the following error messages
issued during the attempt to build `libxml-perl`:

  make test had returned bad status, won't install without force


Has anyone seen the above error before, and if so, how do I fix the problem ???
