Well this is definitly not the case for the registry...

Just look into the MobyRegisty API (http://inb.bsc.es/java/moby_registry.html)
The only hack I'm using is the soap-encoding (MobyCore) - the rest are plain JAXB classes.

By the way, could we start migrating to the document encoding from the Moby Central? ;-) 
I think it would be not such a pain as with Moby Services?
