Hello Wolfgang,
On OpenSuse that error usually means you've installed EMBOSS into
/usr/local such that the libraries are in /usr/local/lib. That
library directory is cached on OpenSuse so all you should need to do is,
with privilege, type "/sbin/ldconfig" to rebuild the cache.
