if im not wrong, libnucleus is part of the EMBOSS installation, and it
should be in /usr/local/emboss/lib if u installed emboss in that path.

Hey, dont worry about that, i have 2 emboss installations in SUSE9.2
and it works just fine!!!!
At home I use Slackware, but at my Job Im in charge of 4 machines and
3 of them run SUSE, it rocks anyway.
