Hello Antonio,
No new PPM package for BioPerl has been released since 2009, so I recommend
that you make a manual installation downloading the latest release (1.6.923)
from CPAN, or try downloading the latest unreleased code
(https://github.com/bioperl/bioperl-live/tree/v1.6.x). Last month I updated
the instructions for manual installation on Windows in the wiki, so you may
want to look there on how to do it
(http://www.bioperl.org/wiki/Installing_BioPerl_on_Windows#Installation_usin
g_CPAN_or_manual_installation), I verified all installation steps on a
system with a fresh copy of ActivePerl then, so it should work (if not
please tell me!); please read "Dmake for ActivePerl" before trying to
install.
Once the BioPerl base is installed you will need to install BioPerl Run,
which is a separate package that contains the "Bio::Tools::Run" modules.
Since Run has not seen a new release for a while, I recommend that you
download the latest code (https://github.com/bioperl/bioperl-run). Its
presently not as actively maintained as the core BioPerl, so please report
if something is not working right.
Good luck and hope that everything goes well.

Asunto: [Bioperl-l] Bio::Tools::Run::StandAloneBlastPlus not in ppm package
Bio::Tools::Run::StandAloneBlastPlus won't get installed on *windows* using
the default ppm respository http://bioperl.org/DIST (only the older version
Bio::Tools::Run::StandAloneBlast seeme to come with that package). This is
what the Activestate PPM says:
BioPerl
Bioinformatics Toolkit
Version: 1.6.1
Release date: 2009-9-29
Author: BioPerl Team <bioperl-l at bioperl.org>
CPAN: http://search.cpan.org/dist/BioPerl-1.6.1/
Searching the mailing lists one can see that there haven't been posts on
windows installation for a few years.
Is it still possible to get an up to date version (the newest release in
CPAN is BioPerl-1.6.923) of the PPM package ?
Kindest Regards
Antonio
