[Bioperl-l] reducing time

thank you all for your notes that I appreciate so much. In fact I 
resolved the problem concerning time reduction by replacing a big loop 
with the tr/// operator. But dealing with big and many files will be a 
big part of my work and everytime I have a problem. Right now per 
exemple, I'm runnig a perl script (look at the attachement). Here it's a 
little bit fast (i note that there is 1000 proteomes in the output 
directory), i mean by that at about 27 seconds/10 proteomes. I'm asking 
myself if it's the right and optimum way to do what the script shows.
briefly, I search every proteome for the ID's I put in the table and I 
make a file...

Any suggesting for that... Am'I on the right way for this. I think that 
runnig the table for every sequence is a hard way....!!
