I too had issues installing BioPerl 1.2 through CPAN on Redhat 8.0.
cpan> install B/BI/BIRNEY/bioperl-1.2.tar.gz (second attempt)
Running make for B/BI/BIRNEY/bioperl-1.2.tar.gz
Is already unwrapped into directory /root/.cpan/build/bioperl-1.2
Has already been processed within this session
Running make test
PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/bin/perl "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e"
"test_harness(0, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t
...
(running through tests)

make test had returned bad status, won't install without force

What do tests 14 & 18 of RootIO and test 2 of BioGraphics need? Is this
a common error? Should I down load and make myself as Vicky is trying
to do? Thanks.
