[Bioperl-l] installation problem

Absolutely, you are right, but what I was trying to say is that with perl
you do not *need* to install the modules, you can actually *use* them,
without them being installed. I can just write a perl module now, put it
in my PERL5LIB and it will very happily work. Not perfect, but good to
know if you just want to use something without too much hassle.
