Bioperl '99 workshop
This is just a reminder about booking in for the bioperl workshop
which will be held on 5th August this year, just before ISMB in
Heidelberg. Check out the URL:
http://bio.perl.org/bioperl-99/
Please forward this message to any other group (whether perl based
or molecular biology based) which you think might be interested.
The bioperl workshop can now take credit card payments directly.
This should be a great help for people with non US dollar funds, as
the credit card transaction will automatically do the conversion (the
exchange rate I believe is competitive and is probably cheaper than
arranging a check drawn on a US bank). As you can pay directly via the
web, this might be useful even for US applicants. Many thanks for the
ICSB folks for setting this up. The URL for registration is:
http://bio.perl.org/bioperl-99/registration.html
The ISMB tutorials include a session by David States and Brian
Dunford Shore on "PERL abstractions for databases and distributed
computing" which looks very interesting for this auidence.
The bioperl workshop will have most of the main people doing the
work behind bioperl and many others who are using Perl in molecular
biology attending, so do come along. (I also personally know a number
of good pubs in Heidelberg, so it wont be 100% science).
Looking forward to seeing you there.
