Yeah, I'll retract my "Java 7" vote since that was based on Ubuntu providing Java 7 at the current time. I stay up to date with 
Ubuntu versions, so I'll be on Java 8 when BioJava goes to 8. And Fedora (my main bioinformatics platform) is already providing 8 
from the distro.
