Hi Udana,

There is some overlap between your background and many aspects of
BioJava. I recommend taking a look at the Cookbook for a start
learning more about BioJava. To give you an idea of what was going on
last year, the two biojava related projects that were funded were

A) Development of an all Java multiple sequence alignment module
B) Identification and classification of posttranslational protein modifications.
