Hi All,

For those of you who are interested in distributed network computing for bioinformatics, there is a lightweight Distributed Network Computing platform. The software is downloadable at www.GreenTeaTech.com.

It's a great platform to develop all kinds of distributed network applications, especially if you'd like to use multiple computers for resource-hungury applications, e.g. aggregate CPU power and disk space, or you'd like to push dynamic services to a cluster of machines within Intranet or on the Internet.

The downloaded GreenTea software package includes the source code for the bioinformatics applications that run on GreenTea platform. With simple to use APIs, you can develop your own custom applications to suit your need. There is also a GreenTea community at the www.GreenTeaTech.com website for people to build GreenTe network computer on the Internet. So if you have only one computer, that's fine. You can join the GreenTea network to meet your computing power need.

I highly recommend this new platform toolkit and would like to share with you this great piece of software. It's written in Java so it provides you the freedom to run on both Windows and Unix/Linux machines. Therefore, you can make full use of the heterageneous network of machines.
