That's my preference, too.  If I don't get any objections,
I'll go ahead with this this afternoon, and then you can check in
SequenceDBInstallation whenever you feel like it.

Sounds good to me.  I noticed the contract stuff in some
example code you've submitted, and it looks good -- I might
well be tempted to use it myself.

At the moment, we don't have any structure for utils, but if
you're checking in a reasonable number of related classes, feel
free to propose subpackages.

Yep, interfaces for representing searches are very definitely a
Good Thing.  I guess it might be best to wait until there's
an implementation done before finally checking them in, but I'm
certainly happy with that as a provisional location for the 
interfaces.
