The BioJava project has been working for the last year with
just this one mailing list, which gets used both for development
and architecture discussions and for user questions. Having
talked to a few people around the Sanger Centre, I'm wondering
if it might be time to split the mailing lists:

biojava-l: Keep the current list running for user questions,
comments, and announcements of significant API
              changes/bugs/whatever.

biojava-dev: In depth discussion of architectural and API
               issues.

Do other people think this split will be helpful?

Looking a little bit further, we might also want to think about:

biojava-announce: Exclusively for announcements of releases
                    and meetings.

biojava-commits: Automatic list of CVS commit messages.

Would either of these be helpful to anyone?

Let me know what you think,

  Thomas.
