Hi,

Yes, I am intending to propose/(co-)mentor an  implementation of  
phyloXML (http://www.phyloxml.org/) in BioRuby (similar to the BioPerl 
version  [http://www.bioperl.org/wiki/Phyloxml_Project_Demo] which was a 
SoC project in 2008 sponsored by  Nescent 
[http://www.nescent.org/index.php]).
I hope to realize this either under Nescent's SoC 2009 or a Bio* SoC (if 
there is to be one).
