[Bioperl-pipeline] trouble installing XML:Parser

Hi again,
I am having some trouble getting XML-Parser-2.31 installed

I get all the way to the make test in which everything passes.

then on make install i get
make[1]: Entering directory `/auto/nfs/l01/compbio/dev/XML-Parser-2.31/Expat'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/auto/nfs/l01/compbio/dev/XML-Parser-2.31/Expat'
Manifying blib/man3/XML::Parser.3pm
make: *** No rule to make target `pure_dev_install', needed by
`pure_install'.  Stop.

i used  perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=/compbio/dev INSTALLDIRS=dev

I see this in the Makefile

pure_install :: pure_$(INSTALLDIRS)_install

any suggestions??
