Is char(n) / varchar(n) to be the equivalent of:

    NULL ids(n) from EMBL and the biojava data model :-)

(ahhh!  How I so much remember the joys of testing each and every Bio*
data model against real data in CT/SA !)

p.s. Sorry - but it had to be done :-)  We'll get there in the end - I
know it's totally non trivial, and when all is said and done - what on
earth would a 'systems guy' know about programming...
