Yeah... but that isn't a part of the Moby API so we don't want to  
encourage people to code to it.  I suspect nobody would object to me  
adding a tag to the output from findService that included the isAlive  
information?

It's a shame, though... I think it says something important about the  
Semantic Web in general - all this metadata retrieval can potentially take  
a long time!  Caching isn't going to help much in this case, since the  
status may change hour by hour (e.g. if a domain disappears briefly).

Eddie, do you have a "gut feeling" for why LSID resolution for service  
instances is so slow?  Is it the RDF generation on our end that sucks-up  
all the time?
