[MOBY-dev] Object ontology curated in the text-* branch

Hi all,

In the absence of any objection to my request last week, I bravely went
into the database this morning and re-wired the roots of the text-*
branch of the Object ontology.

Anyway, it looks much better now. There are still some objects at the
root level of the ontology that clearly should be children of text-*
objects, for example iANT_BLAST-Text, however I cannot curate these
manually because the articleName for the contained string is more
specific than "content"; I would break the service if I curated it to
inherit from text-formatted. Hopefully the providers will eventually
find time and motivation to go in and re-register their object/service.
There's also the text_plain branch that would be nice to get rid of
completely, but we will have to contact individual service providers who
are using these objects to request this change.

Please let me know ASAP if you notice anything unusual after this edit,

M

"For most of this century we have viewed communications as a conduit,
a pipe between physical locations on the planet.
What's happened now is that the conduit has become so big and interesting
that communication has become more than a conduit,
it has become a destination in its own right..."
