[EMBOSS] Installation (configure) error

  hello

I encounter the following error while trying to *configure EMBOSS*

checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for gawk... (cached) gawk
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl.exe... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

I'm using fedora-based linux OS

Please guide me as to what I have to do to get rid of the error
