Hi all,

Indeed, to get PDF export requires the PDFlib, which is not free
software. However, Manolo Gouy, the upstream author, kindly provided
compilation options to replace the PDF support by a simple PS support.

It is with this option that Seaview is built on Debian and its
derivatives. As a bonus, on FreeDesktop compliant window managers (like
GNOME, KDE, Xfce), alignments in Clustal W format will be recognised as
being openable with SeaView.
