	Dear Ted,

It is the "logic" of the algorithm. getorf defines an ORF as a region 
that :
- begins with a start codon
- ends with a stop codon
- has inside no stop codon (but can have start codons)
In translation it will give an as long as possible protein. It does not 
give a set of proteins that overlap at the COOH-end and where the 
start methionine of one is an internal methionine of another.
