Problem with EMBOSS_ROOT

I know its Friday and its well past 5 O'clock but.......

I have instances of EMBOSS on 2 machines with the same OS/setup so I
just copied the bin/lib/share and then attempted

export EMBOSS_ROOT=/path/to/dir/containing/emboss.default

on the non-compilation machine

unfortunately showdb wasnt too happy.

I did separate compilations to sort it but I thought I should mention
the EMBOSS_ROOT problem.
