systematic error message

Hello,

I have a message which shows up with every emboss program and I do not find
where it is coming from.

does someone have a clue? of more fenerally a method for such problems?
the  "-debug" swithc does not show any indication of the problem in the .dbg
file.
the current emboss.default looks ok (?)


the message is :

Error: Bad database attribute ''

after that, the program runs as expected...
