Running EMBOSS in Mac OS X

Hi,

I am new to this mailing list so this question might already have been answered.  I just installed OS X on my G4 mimitower and I would like to use a good sequence analysis software to learn some programming.  I read on MacCentral that someone had been able to run EMBOSS under OS X.  Anybody has some experience?
