We also need to decide how to handle what I believe Ewan currently calls
ComplexSequences: sequences with additional numerical information
associated with each residue, such as a splice site prediction score
starting at that residue.

I have some ideas about this but there is enough going on at the minute so
I will ponder it a bit more.

BTW -- in IDL, if something is a datastructure (i.e. static data only) do
you still refer to it as an "interface"?
