Dear BOSC Community,
As you may already have heard, this summer we are trying something different for BOSC 2018! In the past, BOSC has been a SIG (recently renamed “COSI”, Community of Special Interest) of the ISMB conference. For 2018, BOSC will be held with the Galaxy Community Conference in a new unified event (GCC BOSC 2018), which will take place in Portland, Oregon, June 25-30.
As the high-level schedule (https://gccbosc2018.sched.com/) shows, the combined meeting will start with two days of training. The first day (Monday, June 25) will be an introduction to using Galaxy. The second will feature multiple training sessions relevant to BOSC and/or GCC attendees.
The training topics that will be offered on the second day will be determined by you, the community! If you are interested in presenting a training workshop, please go to https://galaxyproject.org/events/gccbosc2018/training/ for more information, and submit your training topic proposal by THIS FRIDAY, January 12.
Stay tuned for more information about GCC BOSC 2018, including an upcoming Call for Abstracts (probable abstract deadline: March 16) and the opening of early registration.
Sincerely,
Nomi Harris (Chair, BOSC 🍐 2018)
