[BioSQL-l] my proposals

I'm going to take the absence of responses as no objections.

I'll implement first those changes that won't necessitate 
modifications of existing adaptors, and commit them right away.

Before I'll implement and commit the other changes, I'll branch-tag 
the repository. If anyone's got a good name for the tag, let me 
know. One idea is bioperl-release-1.1.1. Another one could be 
'capetown-compatible'. Any favorites/dislikes?
