[Biopython-dev] Per-column annotations in multiple sequence alignments

Hi all,

We've had a long standing open issue on supporting
per-column annotations in multiple sequence alignments,
particularly for the GC lines in the Stockholm/PFAM
format.

Last week I actually made some headway on this, and
put forward the changes as a pull request for a second
opinion: https://github.com/biopython/biopython/pull/528

Any comments?
