From David.Messina at sbc.su.se Fri Jan 28 05:31:17 2011 From: David.Messina at sbc.su.se (Dave Messina) Date: Fri, 28 Jan 2011 11:31:17 +0100 Subject: [Bioperl-dev] removing old BioPerl from CPAN Message-ID: Hi Ewan and Sendu, I don't know if you saw my recent post on the BioPerl mailing list about removing old BioPerl files from CPAN ( http://bioperl.org/pipermail/bioperl-l/2011-January/034423.html). In a nuthell, some users are mistakenly installing these old versions instead of the current ones. After consultation with the CPAN admins, I've learned that the best solution is for the distribution authors to delete the files through PAUSE: https://pause.perl.org/pause/authenquery?ACTION=delete_files It would be a big help to us if you could go in and delete the old BioPerl files under your name. For Ewan, I believe it would be these: BIRNEY/bioperl-1.4.tar.gz BIRNEY/bioperl-db-0.1.tar.gz BIRNEY/bioperl-ext-1.4.tar.gz BIRNEY/bioperl-gui-0.7.tar.gz BIRNEY/bioperl-run-1.4.tar.gz And for Sendu, these: bioperl-1.5.2_102 bioperl-db-1.5.2_100 bioperl-network-1.5.2_100 bioperl-run-1.5.2_100 Thanks very much, Dave From bix at sendu.me.uk Fri Jan 28 15:25:32 2011 From: bix at sendu.me.uk (Sendu Bala) Date: Fri, 28 Jan 2011 20:25:32 +0000 Subject: [Bioperl-dev] removing old BioPerl from CPAN In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <20110128202532.7c02d0f6@64x2.sendu.me.uk> On 28/01/2011 11:31, Dave Messina wrote: [...] > After consultation with the CPAN admins, I've learned that the best > solution is for the distribution authors to delete the files through > PAUSE: [...] > for Sendu, these: > > bioperl-1.5.2_102 > bioperl-db-1.5.2_100 > bioperl-network-1.5.2_100 > bioperl-run-1.5.2_100 Hi, Mine are now scheduled for deletion.
