We definately don't deal with this in Biopython right now, so it would 
be nice to see a good plan hashed out in biocorba to propogate over to 
python. 

I'll admit I'm kind of in over my head on this discussion -- it would
help once you all agree on some ideas to code it up into IDL so we can 
start playing with it. I never really understood what you all were
talking about in the early biocorba discussions until I started
writing the code implementing it :-).
