[MOBY-l] moby = bio web service?

hi,

i'm a MOBY newbie (guess we all are!). all i know is what i've read in
the overview document. so apologies for any stupid questions! :) 

is MOBY some kind of biological web service that uses XML/WSDL/UDDI
like other web services? how come i don't see any mention of UDDI in
the overview doc?
