Ah, no.  I was talking about the isAlive tag found in each service 
description in the service instance RDF

If this was based on the ping, I wouldn't have to send out 600 pings 
myself every time...

In any case, the API doc is now up to date in CVS, it will take a while 
to propagate to the Web site...
