emboss and mac osx 10.1

Hello, 

I just tried to configure/make emboss 2.1 on an iBook running Mac OSX 10.1

The build proceeds for a while and then ends with the following error:

I tried putting "setenv LDFLAGS -flat_namespace" in my ~/.cshrc file,
but doesn't seem to help.

any advice will be appreciated.
