[Bioperl-l] Does bioperl is the answer?

Hi everybody!
I never worked with bioperl and even worse: I'm an absolute perl-newbie.
Does bioperl provides the key to the following problem:
I have a list with positions on bacterial-DNA. (Start-Stop-Positions of 
patterns, about 600 hits) and would like to know if the patterns are 
located within orfs or outside. So I need a programm to search hit by 
hit in an Genome-Database.
Any idea?
