[Bioperl-l] Firewall and Proxy

Hi All,

(it may be Perl problem rather than Bioperl, I don't know.
There were already some questions regarding this issue recently, but
I am not aware of satisfactory solution.)

We have a quite nasty and strict proxy/firewall. Only port 80 is
open, so I know that I will never be able to use ftp through this
damn thing (unless I use some magic). However, HTTP should work, as
Netscape functions all right.
But it does not seem to be transparent for the Bioperl moduls
according the corresponding tests.
Until then I of course can not use *::Remote*, Bio::Biblio* and such.
Please help me finding the solution. What should I read or set or
alter or check?
Any kind of help at any level would really be highly appreciated.
Specs: SUN Solaris8 with the bundled Perl.

Regards
Peter
