[Bioperl-l] make on IRIX 6.5

Yep see a couple of old threads on the mailing list for more information.

This is a ExtUtils::MakeMaker bug and the fact that we have a huge
installation.

I don't know what to do about this.  I was hoping someone else would come
up with the fix being that I don't really mess with perl core modules very
often.  I suppose someone is going to either really bug Michael Schwern
until it gets fixed (those of you at OSDC will have your opportunity) or
we'll have to try and provide the fix ourselves somehow - it basically
means overriding a couple of methods in our Makefile.PL, but I haven't
been able to figure a) the name of the mehtod, b) how it goes about
preparing the data for output to a makefile.

So we're sort of stuck with the ugly black eye for a while till someone
comes up with a fix.
