<div dir="ltr">Hi Richard<div><br></div><div>Welcome! The project is definitely alive and there are still frequent contributions coming in. That said, most of the recent development has happened in the biojava-structure module. Contributions are welcomed there and elsewhere.</div><div><br></div><div>Regarding version 6, we are planning to release it as soon as possible. We already have gone through a few alphas. For v6 we are trying to put together any removal of legacy code and any necessary API changes needed to continue pushing the project forward. Definitely, there's need to do some updating of milestones in the github issues. We are trying to catch up with that. </div><div><br></div><div>As you say, the mailing list has lost activity, but that's mostly due to the move of discussions to github.</div><div><br></div><div>Jose</div><div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sun, 11 Jul 2021 at 17:23, Michael Heuer <<a href="mailto:heuermh@gmail.com">heuermh@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div style="overflow-wrap: break-word;">Hello Richard,<div><br></div><div>Welcome and thank you for your contributions!</div><div><br></div><div>Speaking for the BioJava 1.x series, yes, that is in maintenance mode now.</div><div><br></div><div><a href="https://github.com/biojava/biojava-legacy" target="_blank">https://github.com/biojava/biojava-legacy</a></div><div><br></div><div>We'll keep cutting new 1.9.x point releases for security fixes and dependency updates as necessary.</div><div><br></div><div>BioJava proper (5.4.0+) keeps plugging along; I'll let someone else chime in on that.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div><br></div><div> michael</div><div><br><div><br><blockquote type="cite"><div>On Jul 11, 2021, at 7:13 PM, Richard Adams <<a href="mailto:ra22597@gmail.com" target="_blank">ra22597@gmail.com</a>> wrote:</div><br><div><div dir="ltr"><div>Hi</div><div> I've just joined the mailing list so wanted to say hello.
