<div dir="ltr">Hey Edgar,<br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr"><div><div><div><br></div>At the moment it does not look like BioJava is joining since OBF is not accepted as a mentoring orgranization. Also, I am a student as well and I came up with the idea that you have seen in OBF web page but I was not able to find a mentor.<br><br></div>Now OBF encourages mentors to look for other organizations that are participating in GSoC and to convince those organizations to work together. Maybe we can do the same thing and try to find a mentor at the same time. I guess that's just what we can do for now. <br><br></div><div>If we cannot join to GSoC maybe we can create a fork of latest version of BioJava and start developing there. Then core developers can check our fork and (if they think that it is suitable) they can allow us to start to push our code to main repository. Of course this is just an idea, I do not know what they are thinking about it. <br><br></div><div>Regards,<br><br></div><div>Serdar<br></div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div><div class="h5">On Tue, Mar 3, 2015 at 9:51 AM, Edgar S. <span><div>Hi,</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>I’m a student looking for a project for the GSOC 2015. I was waiting the mentoring organizations to be announced for looking some project related with bioinformatics, but I didn’t see OBF on the GSOC website. However, on the wiki there’s a project idea <a href="http://www.open-bio.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code_2015_Ideas#Analysis_methods_for_protein_dynamics" target="_blank">http://www.open-bio.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code_2015_Ideas#Analysis_methods_for_protein_dynamics</a>. OBF apply has not been accepted?</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>This project would be developed although It’s not on GSOC? Because I’m really interested in participate in the development of Bioinformatics software.</div></span><div>
